Foundry lead time for a new cast is no more than 8 weeks.

The oryx is one of the great survivors of the dry country, an antelope that can go for weeks without drinking, drawing what water it needs from the sparse plants it grazes and letting its own body temperature climb through the heat of the day rather than sweating it away.

I wanted to sculpt the walk rather than a stance - that unhurried, deliberate crossing of open country.

The finished piece is cast in bronze by the lost-wax process and worked by hand with a deep, warm patina, so the surface holds the light differently as you move around it. It is a limited edition of twelve, each cast signed by the artist and supplied with a certificate of authenticity.

The horns are the whole thing with an oryx. They're almost dead straight and far longer than you'd think an animal could reasonably carry.
