The piece comes directly out of a research trip to Sosian, in Kenya's Laikipia, in 2019. A pack had been spotted there the day after I arrived - the first in a few years, after a drought had killed off the previous one - so on my very first morning I found myself watching them hunt, which felt like extraordinary luck. Back in the studio I built the composition long and low, letting the whole pack read as one continuous line of movement rather than a set of separate figures, because that shared sense of purpose was the whole reason the sight had stayed with me.

Cast in bronze by the lost-wax process in an edition of nine, each with a deep hand-applied patina and supplied with a certificate of authenticity.
