Walking, the body draws out into one long line from nose to tail, the deep chest and the narrow waist and the high shoulders all reading clearly against the light.
I made it after a trip to Kenya in 2019, where I spent a good while watching cheetahs do very little - lying up in the heat, then getting up and walking off across the grass without any urgency at all. What stayed with me wasn't the famous sprint but that unhurried walk, the way an animal that can outrun everything else has no particular need to rush. So I always had that silhouette of the walk in mind when sculpting this piece.
