Foundry lead time for a new cast is no more than 8 weeks.

A giraffe on the move is an unlikely thing to watch - all height and length, the long legs swinging in that slow, rolling, oddly deliberate walk, the neck rocking gently to keep the whole improbable structure in balance. This piece is the animal caught mid-stride, held in profile so that the length of the legs and the sweep of the neck carry the composition. I sculpted it after a research trip to Sosian in Kenya in 2019, watching them move across the open country there, where the strangeness of the proportions gives way to something genuinely graceful once the animal is walking.

It is cast in white bronze, an alloy with a higher nickel content that gives the metal a pale, silvery appearance rather than the usual warm brown, which suits the animal and lifts the long lines of the piece. It is a limited edition of only six, each cast signed by the artist and supplied with a certificate of authenticity.

The moment they start walking there's this slow, rolling grace to them that I wanted to get down
