Heavy, and quick with it

Foundry lead time for a new cast is no more than 8 weeks.

The surprise is how fast all that bulk can move when it decides to, and I've caught this big male mid-trot, the weight fully committed to the movement. I sculpted him from life in Normandy in 2023, which meant early starts, out into the forest before the light was properly up and staying downwind the whole time - a boar that catches your scent is gone before you've begun, so a lot of the work was just getting close enough to watch without being noticed. Long enough in his company, and what I came away wanting was both things at once: the sheer weight of the animal, and the lightness he had on his feet in spite of it.

It's always a surprise how light on the ground a boar is - and how much intent there is behind the movement once he needs it
