TIGER ROAR
With Tiger Roar I wanted to catch the animal at its most dramatic - full roar, teeth bared, everything about the pose pushed to its most intense. The modelling around the neck is deliberately loose and slightly abstracted, and if you look at the back, parts of it are pulled away from the neck almost like it's disintegrating - like the sculpture can barely contain the energy of the moment. It's finished in a strong verdigris patina, which adds to that raw, weathered feel.
